The Second World War had come to its end. Germany was in allied hands under the control of the Rhine army.
Time had come the de-mob of troops so those who were able to you had farewell parties. One such party was graced with the presence of a well known bandleader of the period. A number of band boys and entertainers were also present.
The party was in full swing with drink, beer and schnapps, flowing freely and an impromptu sing song-taking place. It was suggested that a little music would put the icing on the cake so to speak. A piano stood in the corner of the room but horror of horrors inspire of the talent In that room no one could play the piano.
All hope of having a piano accompaniment was gone when suddenly the door opened and out of the dark and swirling misty nights appeared a solder dressed in British battle dress. Without speaking to anyone he sat down at the piano and started to play, he accepted all the drinks and food that were offered and after playing for a couple of hours he disappeared as mysteriously as he replied.
