This is my brother Colin Bolitho's Mickey Mouse Gas Mask - he was only 2 when the war broke out. we lived at Glenview in Penryn.

My brother Colin was just over two years old when war broke out. Special gas masks were distributed for children and they tried to make them look like Mickey Mouse faces so they wouldn't be too frightening. Babies were too small to wear the gas masks so were put inside special incubators.
