He was only a small man,
Small, but greedy and clever
And he vowed as he eyed his surroundings
That he wouldn't be humble forever.
And because he was only a small man
He collected the weak and depressive
And clothed them in menacing costume
To make them seem hugely impressive.
Then because he was cunning and greedy
He made others give him their wealth
To champion the cause of the needy
For the sake of thier souls and their
Health.
He had been only a small man
But now he felt powerful and tall,
So why was it nations objected
When he had the right to rule all?
He persuaded his mesmerised nation
That they were impeded and poor,
But could change their sad situation
With a little, excusable war...
They agreed they were cruelly exploited
That they had thier rights like the
Rest,
That if they took over as rulers
Then all would acknowledge it best.
He lead them out by the million
to that 'little, excusable war'
And established a temporary dominion
With himself the implacable core.
That pryamid came down into ruin
And buried the rulers and ruled,
Destroying the world he had conquered,
Destroying the nation he'd fooled.
He was seen to be only a small man,
Stretched out like a rabbit in rubble,
And all that was greedy and clever
Disappeared like a conjurer's bubble.
So beware when approached by a small man
Who whispers that he'll make you rich,
For he'll be the one who'll be powerful
And you'll be dead in the ditch.
