This story was submitted to the 大象传媒 People鈥檚 War site by Wymondham Learning Centre on behalf of the author who fully understand the site's terms and conditions.

I was born in 1924 and spent most of my life in Watton, Norfolk. After leaving school, I worked in the office of an agricultural firm and then in a lawyer鈥檚 office. I was called up in 1940 and joined the Army Medical Corp.

I went to Aldershot for training. Afterwards, I went to Shaftesbury Hospital in Dorset, where they brought a lot of the injured. I enjoyed my time in the Army and met a group of decent chaps.
