V.E. Day - the day when we children, living in London's East End,
could emerge safely, from our houses,
each subsequent morning.
No longer would we gawp at the
Bombed-out Wreckage, of the Dwellings,
where such as our friends, Peter, Andrea
and Tony, had lived.
Friends we would see no more, as
a result of the previous night's Bombs, or Rockets!
