I had afternoon tea with my Aunty Joan at her home yesterdy-table cloth, best china and cherry cake.We got round to discussing the recent programme on TV about the Zeppelins.I told her that my Uncle Charles had told me a few days ago how he had seen the Graf Zeppelin 2 ,as a young boy,a couple of years before the 2nd War.He lived in the New Forest and remembers it clearly, all silver with big swastikas as it flew over Southampton and the Forest. He wouldn't have waved had he realised they were busy taking photos to assist the Luftwaffe in their bombing raids in the soon to come war!
" Oh thats nothing " said my Aunty Joan."During the First War I can remember hearing a Zeppeling fly overhead on its way to bomb the nearby Vickers works at Barrow in Furness. We all new the sound they made"
