Henry Robert (Bob) Hill

This story was submitted to the peoples war sight by a volunteer from the CVS on behalf of Henry Robert Hill.

From Late 1942 until 1944, I was stationed at the RAAF — the Royal Australian Air Force at Waddington, Lincolnshire, servicing and repairing the Lancaster bombers which were used on missions over Europe. We sent planes out in pristine condition and then had to try and put them back together again when they managed to limp home; often in a really shocking state.
