I was born on 1/9/1938.When ww11 started i was 1year 2days old.My Dad joined the Army.And was sent to France.He was in the Royal Engineers.So when Dunkirk happened. My Dad had to stay behind to destroy everything.To stop in falling into German hands.He came out six eweeks later from St Nazaire.He came home on leave.I bought me a big doll.He then went back. He was sent to the Middle East.And was in the Battle of EL-Alamain.When i was seven.My Dad came home.I was frightened of him.And wouldnt go to him.Because he was a Stranger.I hid behind my Mam.Then he showed me all the chocolates
he had.I had never tasted Chocolate before.We had a big Party in the Street for him.My dad frightened me.Because he was So sunburnt.He looked black.I had never seen a black peson before.My Dad got 4 medals.I thought he was very brave.
