This Is James Bowe, of Southmoor Community School, entering the story of Murial Oates on to the website and they fully understand the website terms and conditions.
She Lived in Grangetown, next to the cemetery. Luckily her house was one of the few that were never bombed but during the night no one got any sleep because of the constant screams and thunder when the homes near by where struck. One night as she lay in bed she heard an enormous roar. She bolted upright in her bed. She went downstairs and out into her back garden where she saw a massive light in the sky, a heavy artillery gun had scored a direct hit on a German plane. She stood and watched as the plane plunged from the night sky and landed just a few miles away from her house.
