I lived with my parents, on Kenilworth Avenue, Derby. On the 15th January 1941 a bomb was dropped not far from our house. Consequently a number of people had no water, but we were fortunate so people came with their buckets, kettles etc, and we were glad to supply them. It made one realise how important water is for us, for drinking, washing, flushing the toilet etc.
