Can you recall when first we met
With hopes and dreams we strove to get
Bombed out of London Town, so waht
With one gold ring we tied the knot.
We traipsed the country far and wide
Our fibre suitcase sorely tried.
The war was over the knot still held
Another chapter of llife to weld.
We settled down with a baby of one,
A golden-haired girl, now herself a mum.
The road has been long, skies grey and blue,
But the know has no meaning since I lost you.
