I was only 14 when the bombing started in Sheffield.
My Dad was in the Merchant Navy; he was hit by an arial torpedo and killed on board Empire Kestrel.
I worked at the Yorkshire Traction. I met my husband there. He got called up into the Royal Army Service Corp and went out to Burma for two years but he came back safe. He got a job at the Yorkshire Traction in the garage.
