I was in the WAAF, stationed at great Yarmouth. One day some German planes
came over and hit the hostel next door. Twenty Wrens were killed - it was
horrible. We all gave blood as a lot of girls were injured. I think the bomb
hit the Wellington Pier, which was full of glass. There were so many
injuries.

Our WAAF headquarters was in the Royal Hotel but we were billeted in an
empty hotel around the back. I was an accounts clerk and joined up in 1942.
I went to Yarmouth in 1944.
