There were five children in my family (all girls). My twin sister went into the WAFS. I stayed to help with my family. I worked at Bywaters, Kings Heath. I had to clean the shop as well as serve customers. If food was 鈥渄istressed鈥 (going off) staff could purchase cheaply, without rationing books.
