My name is June Small, I was born in Dick Whittington hospital Highgate, London on 12/6/35 the third child of Jack and Rosina Small. I had two older brothers Jim and Pat. I lived in 72 Sparshot Rd Highgate. Our house backed onto a railwayline, so it was a prime target for when the war started. I can remember the bombs and was very scared. One night the raids were very bad so instead of going in our shelter in the garden we all went to the communal shelter we also slept on the Underground, when we came home in the morning our house had been hit so with no home and only the clothes we had on, we went to my nans house in Holloway but the bombing got very bad, so we were all evacuated to Bedford (my nan, aunties and my mum and myself) my brothers were sent to a farm in St Ives in Cornwall. They enjoyed this.
