I am trying to find out more details about my grandfather, Geoffrey Knight, and his activities during WW2. All that I know is that he served in the Royal Marines from 1939 until 1945, attached to HMS Sheffield, and I think he reached the rank of Colonel. Sadly my grandfather died in recent years and my family and I know relatively little of his experiences in WW2. I would therefore be very grateful if anyone could provide me with any anecdotes or further details of which part of the Royal Marines he served in, as well as where he was posted.
