We had an Anderson shelter in our back garden. I remember one night I just couldn't be bothered to go into the shelter when the sirens went, instead I just stood by the front gate. When my dad saw me he yelled 'Get into that shelter' so I ran into the shelter. Just in time - a few minutes later a bomb exploded right by the gate. A lucky escape !
