Somerset had a Land Army, my Grandad Bill Hillier was a farm labourer and lived near to Misterton on the border of Dorset.
One afternoon, a low flying aircraft was seen by kids playing in the rec. The plane was a German bomber and it crash landed on the fields beyond the rec. The land army took the pilot prisoner of war and raided the wreck for mementos.
This was one of the few landings of the enemy in this area.
