Born in 1936 I grew up in the war years. We had an air raid shetler dug out in the garden and each morning I had to help my father pump out the water from the shelter with a styrrup pump. We often had families of frogs down there.Being close to Rolls Royce we spent many nights down in this underground shelter after the siren went off.I used to wear a siren suit which was an all-in-one garment and very warm indeed.
