D- Day Celebrations took place all around the country. There was dancing, singing, food and general merriment. Ruth was 11 years old when these celebrations took place.
She loved dancing and could dance well. Unfortunately, she was unable to do any dancing because she had broken her big toe and was very upset.
When the celebrations took place for VJ Day, Ruth’s toe was better and she was able to dance away happily!
She has this as her most vivid memory because she now suffers with Arthritis in the toe.
