I was too young to realise the horror of war, but a few memories:-
a) Getting excited going to a crashed aeroplane
b) Getting chewing gum from the Americans at a nearby aerodrome
c) Looking for the light to go out on the doodle bugs (don't know the proper name)
d) Standing outside at night to see the bright lights as Norwich (10 miles away) was being bombed.
