My War

Age 18 had to join the forces or work where sent, so worked in chemical factory all day and did fire watching for bombs in the evening.

Married my 18 years old sweet-heart, John, before he was sent to Burma, Stayed in East Ham all through the war and bombing raids. First the planes then incendiary bombs then worst of all the V2 rockets.

Age 23 when my husband was demobbed and 62 years later we are still married and still 鈥榮weethearts.
