This picture was submitted by Sheila and shows her in her ATS uniform as a newly qualified driver.
This was my 'working' uniform, shirt, tie, battle-top jacket and trousers. It was taken in London, in a studio in the strand. Our collars, which were separate from the shirts, were sent to a Chinese Laundry in Kings Road, Chelsea, and came back beautifully starched. We were very proud of our uniform . We also had leather jerkins and a greatcoat, and our 'walking out' uniform of belted jacket and skirts.
