Evacuation John Hawkins story
All the children line up on paddinton railway station their gas masks in little cardboard boxes. The train took me to a army camp where the ats looked after my brothers and I .We were put on to army vehicles, they took us around the houses, they would not take two of us so we were the last to find a home to stay in. We stayed there six months until my mum and dad came and took us home because they were not happy with where we were staying. When we returned home the doodle bugs (V2 rockets) started landing.
