A doodlebug bomb was dropped on the other side of the church on Bow Road. My mum and dad's flat was on the 4th floor opposite the church. The doodlebug landed in the church yard and the force launched a grave stone up in the air four stories high smashing through my parents flat window and landing on their bed! Fortunately none of us were there. The same bomb killed the man and woman who ran the dairy, their daughter only God knows how, survived. There was also a Selby's undertaker nearby and the force of the explosion threw the coffins from the shop onto the street! What deathly destruction.
