all of the family were in the shelter in our garden one evening, when a whole batch of incendiary bombs were dropped on our street, we had three on our house and garden.when the all clear siren had gone we managed to put out the small fires with the help of the fire wardens.we all went back to bed and when my father and mother got into bed, my father looked up at the ceiling and said i can see the stars on further investigation they found a neat hole in the ceiling also there was a hole in the floor and when they looked downstairs in the front room a polished oak table had a neat half circlecut out of the edge of it, they searched around the room and found a complete unexploded incendiary under the settee, the bomb had fallen through the roof and floor and rolled under the couch without exploding.
