My daughter and her friends held a concert one day and all the money raised was sent to Lady Churchill for Russian Fords. My son who is the Bishop was born in the Munich crisis. We used to see and hear all the doodlebugs going towards Hull.

Thoresby Aerodrome was near and we could hear all the planes as Lincolnshire was full of aerodromes — it was called The Bomber County. We had a training base at Manby where young pilots were trained also we had a Polish aerodrome near Faldingworth. There is a special window and plaque in Faldingworth Church commemorating the Polish pilots. They hold a Church Service each year and planes fly over.
