In the early 1940s, I worked in a Munition Factory during the 1939-1945 war making parts to assemble warships together. One of the ladies who worked in the same department as me, believed in spiritualism, and tried to always get me to go to a meeting in the town.

As time went by we had warships sailing to and from to Canada collecting food rations for us in England.

I fancied a young man who joined the Navy and he used to sail every three to six months and after a spell came the news George was missing believed drowned.

Although I had stopped going out with George I still fancied him and kept in touch with his Mother.

One day I decided to go to my friend's spiritualists in town.

The people sat in the frontroom of this house and the lady spiritualist came into the middle and went off into a trance and started to speak like a man, in broken English. She came to me and told me about my Grandmother who I had never met and several other people, I found out after we both had the same family name but was no relation.

She started shaking and said "I am being drawn down into the water and it is so cold",there was a slight pause, then she said "but I am safe I am alright now"

About a week later I had a message from his Mum saying "Picked up quite safely and landed on Canadian soil, and three months later in England.

I am now 80 years of age and still has that soft spot for George.

"One day we may meet again"
