My mother was from Cheshire but had relatives who lived in Bishopriggs. A bomb dropped between my aunt and uncle's house and my cousin Rose's house next door. She and her son were killed outright when running for shelter but my aunt and uncle escaped with being covered in debris. They lived opposite the school and it was a loan raider who had followed a single track railway line and dropped the bomb and machine gunned the playground . In the morning we could see the marks on the ground and walls.
The funeral for cousin was held in the openair as there was no house to leave from
.I stood beteen the two coffins ,the shock of it killed my aunt and uncle soon after.
When the bomb was dropped ai was in the park in Springburn and heard it but didn't know it was a relative who had suffered.
