I worked in a factory making ball bearings during the war in Little barrow in essex.
On 19th of December 1943 The salvation army band came to play to us during our break. we worked hard because bearings were needed really desparately. After the band finiished playing, a bomb hit the factory killing 21 people before christmas. The factory carried on as usual with blood from the victims of the attack still on the machines. These raids seemed to always be on the 19th, but the factory kept running around the clock.
