Jack & Louisa Waller in the Air Raid Shelter at Charringtons Eagle Brewery in Mile End Road, E1.
This story was added on behalf of Alfred Waller by Pauline Pearson of London CSV Volunteers. The author is aware of the site's terms and conditions.
My father usually didn't go down to the air raid shelter but on this particular evening he decided to go, with my mother and us children, because they had laid on an entertainment. The shelter was in Charringtons Eagle Brewery in Mile End Road. The attached photo is a still of the film whcih was taken and used for the World at War Series of the Blitz. When we saw my parents on the film, my sister went to the 大象传媒 and they gave her a copy and other copies have been passed on to the family. I was the youngest of twelve children and there are only two of us left now.
