I am an ex Ganges boy, who now helps out as a trustee at the Ganges Museum which is situated where the workshops used to be on the fore shore at Ganges, the Site is now a mariner, and the Museum is part of that. I am trying to find any one who served there whether boy under training or as ships company, We at the museum would be particularly interested in any stories of your time there, and if you could also help out with photo's of yourself/shipmates so much the better, we can copy and return photo's. We are particulaly short of Wrens photo's/stories, and middle to late sixties boys/recruitments, and ships Coy.
However we would be greateful for any thing connected with Ganges. The Museum is open from April to October weekends and public holidays, We can cater for parties at other times on request, all are welcome, there is no charge for entry, but we are greateful for any donations. More info can be found on the internet www.hmsgangesassoc.org perhaps you would like to become an association member !!

Message 1 - Ganges service

Yes I served in Ganges (1933-1934) and that is not a misprint. My book "It wasn't all mayhem" tells the story of Ganges in those days. The book is in it's second printing and is available at bookstores. If difficult to find at a local store it is on Amazon or from the publisher Compaid Graphics. Let me know if you have a problem or even if you don't.

It would be nice (and polite) to get a response.
