I can remember planes returning to the local airfields with holes in their wings and asking my father why this was so. A bomb landed fairly near to where we lived and I still have part of the tail fin. The target was Waddington Airfield
My father was in the Home Guard in North Hykeham and also fire watched in Lincon until 1944 but I was never allowed into the cupboard under the stairs because that was where the rifle was kept
