My great-uncle was part of the Japanese Code Breaking work that took place in India. This is related to the work that took place at Bletchley Park. I think that this was an Intelligence effort but unfortunately we don't have any details since we only found this out after he passed away recently.
We do know that he was there for a number of years, and learned some of the local language and enjoyed the local foods.
