As a school girl I used to cycle over the Midland Boad bridge to my school in Horne Lane which was the Harpur Central School. I had just reached school when the bombes fell near the theatre. my mother on hearing the explosion ran all the way up Hurst Grove over the Bromham Road bridge down ashburnham road to midland road to see if i was ok. A phone call was made and she was told that I had reached school.
