My father was in the ARP and this particular evening there was a frantic knocking on the cottage door.
My father went to the door, a very excited voice gabbling!!
He shut the door and came in roaring with laughter.
Mother said 鈥淲hat was all that about?鈥
鈥淐an鈥檛 stop!鈥 he said grabbing his tin hat and gas mask. 鈥淭ell you later鈥
Some 2 hours later when he came back he started laughing as soon as he got in the door.
Once again mother said 鈥淲hat was all that about?鈥 Through his laughter he said
鈥淭hat was Mrs Vine,
she said they had dropped some insanitary bombs.鈥
