I’ve come back here (Oswestry) today with a group of about 20 members of the Royal Artillery Association to look around.

It’s changed a lot in 61 years. There were about three regiments here when I was here, including two ATS regiments. We were the 77th — in fact we were the only male regiment among the lot. We had dinner dances and all sorts over at the mess. We had a wonderful time.
