THIS IS A PHOTOGRAPH THAT SHOWS THE CANAL AT TOURNAI WITH A WAREHOUSE OR FACTORY AND THREE TALL CHIMNEYS BEHIND. THIS WAS ‘C’ COMPANY 1st BORDER REG. POSITION DURING THE ATTACK OF THE 20TH. AND 21ST MAY 1940. AND THIS POSITION WAS ASSISTED BY THE CARRIER PLATOON. A GERMAN SNIPER AND SPOTTER WAS LOCATED IN THE CENTRE OF THE THREE CHIMNEYS BEHIND THE FACTORY.
