Noah Grant was a member of the royal observers core during the war. his job was to man the observation station at the top of tetfrod hill to listen out for enermy and friendly aircraft.
On this day he heard and saw a aircraft in the valley and recognised it as freindly. The aircaft was trying to contact its base but was getting no response. Mr Grant then proceeded to radio his head quaters and tell them that there was a freindly plane lost in the valley. Mr Grants headquaters told him that it was not a freindly since all outstanding planes were already back, however, Mr grant knew it was definately a freindly. Mr Grant then radio the aircraft and spoke to the pilot. he found out where they were based and then proceeded to give the pilot instructions of how to follow the roads to return to base. the instructions allowed the plane to return and land safely.
After this the pilot purposely flew back over the area to thank Mr Grant for guiding him and his crew to saftey and hence saving all their lives. it was at this point that Mr Grant found out that the pilot was in fact Guy Gibbson.
