hello my grandmar and aunty dolly are 2 sisters who had the pleasure of serving their country in the land army,they were based in northhampton in 1942 serving in the timber corps,my aunty has came over to visit my grandmar elsie as my aunty dolly now lives in alabama in the united states after marrying a GI my uncle paul,my mammar married frank huckerby,but before they wed they were young single girls who from what the stories i have had the pleasure of listening to had some great times considering the circumstances and the hard unrewarding work the womans land army did,they would love to hear from any who served with or remembers either of them they were living in hackington in northampton in 1942in particuliar a lady called mary thornley who we think lived in robin hood close nottingham,hope someone can help my two relatives and help keep this great and fasinating memory stay alive iv never seem to ladies laugh so much when they get on2 the subject of the stories and antics the had especially with there GI friends from across the water it makes me has a man of 36 feel very humble and honoured to sit and listen to them even though they have a secretive twinkle in there eyes between them of the tales not for there grandsons ears....can you help me help them please
