I remember my father working the land as a reserve occupation and we found were stuck there for the rest of the war because he wasn鈥檛 allowed to move. My sister was born in 1939 and she (my mom) was issued with a full size baby gas mask.
I remember seeing bombs dropping on Glasgow. The streets ran with sugar after the sugar factory was bombed.
I had two brothers born in 1936 and 1937. I remember my mother saying a prayer hoping that they would never serve in a war. One brother did national service in Malaysia.
