A LUKY DAY FOR US!
In Lascelles Road, Leytonstone London E11 a land mine which was a weapon that was dropped from an aircraft by parachute. It crashed through the roof of a house across the road attached itself to the broken rafters in the roof and suspending the mine just one inch above the gas cooker. A lucky day for us!
Wartime brought the community together and we all mucked in to help each other.
It was 4 days before it was defused and I spent them with my sister.
