I , Paul Ridyard, write this account of Jean Barton's war memories in accordance with the policy of the 大象传媒 web site.
I was a student radiorgrapher during the war. The thing that upset me the most was when we had young German boys of 15 who were prisoners of war. They thought, that when we were ex-raying them, we were going to torture them. We couldn't re-assure them because we couldn't speak German. They kept crying for their mothers.
I remember my headmistress saying if we were starving and had no food it wasn't wrong to steel, so i helped myself to a handful of sweets from the shop. The funny thing was it was owned by my sister-in-law uncle. Thankfully I was that good at it that I never got caught.
