Walter Thomas Webb 8th Bn. Worc Reg. Died Age 30 28 May 1940

Serving 18 years in the Black Watch then joining the Royal Worcestershire Regiment as a volunteer to get killed with his comrades.

He died May 28th 1940 in a barn at Wormhaudt during the retreat to Dunkirk. He died at the hands of a SS Troop Commander by Wilhelm Monke who ordered his troops to grenade and machine gun all those in the barn. He was never brought to justice for the crime.
