Taken by Denis Price of the 大象传媒 People's War Team at the 大象传媒 Open Centre, Hull.
It was about the end of the war or just after. I was about ten years of age so I thought I could still remember what ice-cream was even though I hadn't tasted one for years. My Mother went out onto Marlborough Avenue with me and I recall the ice-cream vendor was on a tricycle type of arrangement which had a cold box which contained ice-cream as an integral part of the machine. I believe it was Walls ice-cream and it came in a triangular form with paper around it which certainly wasn't edible. I was so excited at having what seemed to be the first one ever, which of course became the first of many more.
