I am in the middle. This picture was taken at the top garden at my mother in laws.
I was married on 3rd July 1943.
My sister worked in a ladies outfitters in Ireland and she sent the dresses and underwear for my wedding.
I used my clothing coupons to buy shoes.
My brother was the best man and he got us a black market ham.
We had ham and salad and also a very nice fruit cake with cardboard icing on the top.
My family and friends couldn't get but I still have the airmail messages.
I was given a key for '21' but I wasn't that age, but no-one could get any of the usual gifts for a wedding.
During our honeymoon we went to see Vera Lyn sing.
She sang "Yours" and that become our song and we played it at my husbands funeral.
