My Christening in 1941
My father was called up towards the end of the war when conscription was changed. He was 2 years to old but when they raised the age he was called up at about 33. I don鈥檛 know anything about his army career but I do know he spent some time in Belgium. He trained at Beverly near Whitby.
The picture is of my christening in April 1941. It was held at St John鈥檚 Church in Kidderminster. Note the tape on the windows; this was part of our blackout precautions. My mom is the lady wearing the fox fur on the right. The other ladies are Miss Hopkins on the left and my two godmothers Nancy Edmonds and Gladys Price.
