It was the time of the Blitz, my Dad’s sister Margaret saved his life when the houses were getting bombed. Shortly after he was called up for service. He did his time in North Africa, Italy and saw Monte Cassino. He was in the Eighth Army. He saved two officers’ wives. He received the Military Medal for his bravery. I still have the medal at home.
