Just after WW11 I was living in East Germany in the Russian Occupation. I did not want to join the Youth Organisation, when I was 14. I was spat upon because I was not wearing their tie, so I decided to leave. I went to the Railway Station and caught a train to West Berlin. I lived in a Refugee camp and made a new life for myself, eventually marrying a British Soldier.
