the following is an account of flo oakley. as told to dave bridgewater age 16 from holden lane high school.
flo was born in 1916. her brother was in the army. he served in the desert. one day there was a massive attack on the british lines and most of the british soldiers were killed. her brother and twelve other people escaped but were wandering the desert for seven months. they were starving and thirsty. her father worked on the railway , they lived in a terraced house. her mother was an auxillary nurse. her brother escaped the germans and lived through out the war. her brothe died in 1933
